As of June 5, 2025, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has updated its list of participating institutes for the 2025 counselling process. While the total number of institutes remains at 128, comprising 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 1 IIEST, 26 IIITs, and 47 GFTIs, there have been significant additions in terms of new programs and specializations across various institutes.
Key Additions in JoSAA 2025:
- National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna: Introduced several new dual degree programs, including specializations in Data Science, Cyber Security, Microelectronics and VLSI System Design, Power System Engineering, Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, Construction Technology and Management, Material Science and Engineering, and Mathematics and Computing Technology.
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee: Launched a new B.Tech program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati: Introduced a B.Tech program in Energy Engineering.
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar: Started a B.Tech program in Engineering Physics.
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar: Added dual degree programs in Computer Science and Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur: Launched B.Sc programs in Physics with Specialization and Chemistry with Specialization.
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad: Introduced a B.Tech program in Electrical Engineering with a focus on IC Design and Technology.
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai: Started a B.Tech program in Mechatronics Engineering.
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad: Launched a B.Tech program in Data Science and Engineering.
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dharwad: Introduced a B.Tech program in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering.
- Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad: Started B.Tech programs in Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Information Technology under a Flexible Academic Program.
- National Institute of Technology (NIT) Karnataka, Surathkal: Launched a B.Tech program in Computational and Data Science.
- National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur: Introduced a B.Tech program in Engineering and Computational Mechanics.
- National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala: Started a dual degree program in Computational Mathematics.
- Central University of Jammu: Added B.Tech programs in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Avionics), Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering with specialization in Cyber Security.
- Institute of Infrastructure, Technology, Research and Management, Ahmedabad: Launched a B.Tech program in Computer Engineering.
